Act I, Prologue
Lovesick Romeo Capulet and vivacious Juliet Montegue have fallen madly in love. Unfortunately, the age-old feud between their uncompromising families forbids them from being together. William Shakespeare’s famous story of love at first sight is full of action and swordplay, features some of the Bard’s most memorable language, and ponders the inevitability of a tragic end when the convictions of youth are directly at odds with the commands of their elders.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Peter G. Andersen, a stellar design team includes Evan Frank (set) and Devin Cameron (lights) who return from last year’s remarkable production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The cast includes OPFT company members August Forman (Romeo) and Belinda Bremner (Montegue) as well as Sonia Goldberg (Prince), Rachel J. Jones (Juliet), and Lucas Prizant (Mercutio) who also performed last summer. Experience this vivacious production outdoors under the canopy of Oak Park’s beautiful Austin Gardens.

Weather Policy
Weather in the Midwest can change at a moment’s notice. We monitor the weather daily. If light rain is in the forecast, we may choose to continue with our performance. If a show is canceled due to severe weather, you will receive an email 2 hours before the designated curtain. Please be aware that the decision to cancel a show due to severe weather is never made before 5pm on the day of the performance.
If the show is cancelled due to weather, your ticket will automatically become a raincheck valid for any of the remaining performances.
Refund and Exchange Policy
All ticket sales are final. No exceptions.
Exchanges are unlimited within the performance schedule of any given production. This option is available on a self-serve basis using the “Manage Tickets” link found in your order confirmation email.
In the event Oak Park Festival Theatre cancels a performance due to undesirable conditions, the Patron will automatically receive a voucher to return to a future performance of the same production.
