OUR PLAY
Are our destinies to be defined by the way we are perceived, by middle class morality, or by our own sparks of divine fire? In honor of George Bernard Shaw’s 160th birthday, we present to you his immortal tale Pygmalion: a story of a phonetics professor who tutors a lower-class girl to speak proper English in order to pass for a “lady.” Shaw called Pygmalion a “romance.” Critics have called it “genius.” We call it the delicious, dialectic, diabolically smart first production of our 42nd season.

CHCIAGO TRIBUNE
“Drinkall’s assured and supple performance is one of the best reasons to see Oak Park Festival Theatre’s “Pygmalion,” though it is by no means the only one. Directed by Jason Gerace, the production delivers a solid and satisfying take on one of George Bernard Shaw’s most popular plays” – Kerry Reid. FULL REVIEW
CHICAGO READER
“This current revival, directed by Jason Gerace, emphasizes the darker elements in a witty meditation on class and sexual politics” – Jack Helbig FULL REVIEW
