Give Today to Support
and Sustain Live Theatre
in Oak Park
Oak Park Festival Theatre has endured for 50 years thanks to the generosity of friends and neighbors like you. A tax-deductible gift today will have an immediate impact and goes directly to supporting the artists who bring timeless plays to distinctive spaces in Oak Park.
We are nothing without the artists who grace our stage and who put in countless hours behind the scenes, and we are committed to providing them with ample resources so that excellent live theatre in Oak Park can continue. Your gift is instrumental in that effort.
Thank you for giving Oak Park Festival the support we need to succeed and grow.

Your charitable gift to Oak Park Festival Theatre allows us to produce timeless and relevant works of art while deepening our impact in the community… and it can also reduce your annual income tax!
Cash Gifts are Tax-Deductible
As a qualified charitable organization, cash donations to OPFT are tax deductible. There are no limits on charitable contributions for most taxpayers and most can deduct cash contributions in full up to 50% of their adjusted gross income.
Gifts are Deductible in the Year they are Made
Gifts to Oak Park Festival Theatre are considered paid when you put the check in the mail, or when it is charged to your credit card (not when you pay the credit card company). Make sure that your donation is made by December 31 so that it counts toward the year you plan to claim a deduction.
You can also donate stocks!
Stocks may also be donated directly to OPFT and may be a greater benefit to you than a cash donation!
- Giving the gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide better tax benefits than giving cash.
- Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock.
- You may also save on brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
For more information, please contact the Board Treasurer, Kevin Kirby, at kevin@oakparkfestival.com . They will provide you with the information to provide to your broker and have those assets transferred over at the dollar amount of those gifts made at the time of the transfer. And yes, they’re also tax-deductible, just like a cash donation! Make sure that your donation trade is made by December 31 so that it counts toward the year you plan to claim a deduction.
