A Hometown Hamlet: A young man struggles with his re-entrance into society with its own rules and a questionable new figurehead—his own uncle, who is also the likely murderer of his father. Director Lavina Jadhwani returns to Oak Park festival theatre to direct Hamlet, set in prohibition era Chicago. The intensity of Capone-esque politics and sultriness of early 30’s jazz are combined with Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy to open OPFT’s 40th anniversary season with a production fit for a king.

THE CAST: Will Clinger* (Ghost/Player King/Gravedigger), John Croswaithe (Bernardo/Gravedigger 2), Luke Daigle (Guildenstern), Matt Gall (Rosencrantz), Jack Hickey* (Claudius), Kelly Lynn Hogan (Gertrude), Michael Joseph Mitchell *(Polonius), Michael McKeogh (Hamlet), Jackson McLaughlin (Marcellus), Michael Mercier (Laertes), Jhenai Mootz (Osric/Player Queen), Sara Pavlak (Ophelia), Michael Pogue (Horatio), Megan Wells (understudy Gertrude)
