The King is Dead! Long Live the King!

We closed our run of the world premiere of The History of King Henry the Fourth on Saturday night, July 9. Early Sunday morning we began converting the set to serve Henry V, as directed by Jeff Award winner Kevin Theis. Dennis Grimes continues Hal’s journey to Henry V, “The mirror of all Christian kings.” Off he goes to France to claim the French crown. Joining his band will be old Boar’s Head cronies Bardolph (Aaron Christiansen), Pistol (Wm Bullion), and Falstaff’s Boy (11 year old Miranda Theis). Jack Hickey leaves Falstaff behind and becomes the Welsh captain, Fleuellen, part of the cast of 25 extraordinary actors.

The Oak Park Recorder Society, so beautiful at Falstaff’s Feast, will perform before performances July 23 and 30 and August 6 and 13. Don’t forget Family Days with games and crafts ( such as a special create your own shield project sponsored by Sugarcup Trading Company), backstage tours, fight demonstrations and a special kid-friendly pre-show synopsis set for July 24 and August 7.
