Transporting our audience back to the 1940’s heyday of radio drama with a recreation of a “live remote broadcast” via “WVOP” (Visit Oak Park) of The Hound of the Baskervilles. The dates are Friday, September 20 at 7 PM and Sunday, September 22 at 2 PM Kevin Theis and Jack Hickey will star as Holmes and Watson. They will be joined by Festival Theatre favorites Joe Bianco, Lucy Carr, Tony Dobrowolski, Mary Michell, Jhenai Mootz and Mark Richard. The “broadcast” will feature live sound effects and music just like the original radio dramas. And our announcer will be broadcast veteran, Charles Meyerson.
All the “re-enactors” will be in 1940’s fashions, so dust off your fedoras and flounces and come in costume as well. “But wait, Bob, there’s more!” To make the event all the more fun, the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association is hosting a Wine and Cheese reception before the Friday evening performance and an Afternoon Tea (with minosas) following the Sunday afternoon performance.
This family friendly fare is perfect for generating some wonderful cross-generational discussions. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets will be available at our website, The Visitors’ Center at 1010 Lake or by calling the OPFT box office at 708- 445-4440.
