PictureDorianGray_weblogo-386x386Following the “howling” success last year of The Hound of the Baskervilles, the WVOP Radio Players presents a brand new radio adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s spine-chilling The Picture of Dorian Gray for your listening (and viewing pleasure).
The “broadcasts” will be Friday, October 3 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 5 at 3:00 PM at the Nineteenth Century Club. Each performance is preceded by a lovely reception an hour before curtain time.
The Wilde classic was chosen for presentation because of the successful summer production of The Importance of Being Earnest, the second production of Festival theatre’s 40th anniversary season.
The cast includes: Michael McKeogh (Hamlet in Hamlet) as Dorian Gray, Artistic Associate Kevin Theis (director of Earnest) as his mentor Sir Henry Wooton, Artistic Associate Tony Dobrowolski as Wilde, our narrator, and OPFT Artistic Director Jack Hickey (Claudius in Hamlet) as painter Basil Harwood, with Artistic Associate Mary Michell, and Jude Willis (Algy in Earnest) and Maddy Hickey.
Alan Hommerding will again be at the organ and Paul and Linus Engelhardt will provide live sound effects. We also welcome back veteran journalist Charles Meyerson as our announcer.
